29 Jun The Design Process for Custom Engagement Rings
Cornelis Hollander has been in the business of making memories for more than 30 years. Our award-winning custom engagement rings are flawlessly engineered with bold, beautiful, and sharp lines to carve out a timeless story that your significant other will treasure throughout your journey together. Each custom engagement ring, wedding band, and jewelry piece is designed uniquely for the wearer during our jewelry design process.
The first step to designing a personalized masterpiece by an award-winning jewelry designer in our Old Town Scottsdale jewelry store is to schedule a design consultation. You can book a one-on-one appointment with one of Cornelis Hollander‘s designers online, via email, or call us directly at (480) 423-5000. We can work with both local and out-of-state residents to design stunning custom engagement rings.
Your Vision for Custom Engagement Rings
The next step in our design process is to meet either in person or remotely with one of our designers. Suppose you will surprise your significant other. In that case, we invite you to share their style preferences and additional pertinent information, as this allows our designers to determine what they will love wearing and sketch ideas for you to visualize. The discovery process is also the optimal time to show us any heirloom pieces that you may want to incorporate into the design. Once we’ve uncovered your significant other’s unique style, we can provide you with an approximate cost and time estimate, then move on to the next phase in our design process.
Three-Dimensional Design Visualization
Because all designs are made uniquely for the wearer, our designers use sophisticated computer-aided design software to bring your vision for exclusive, personalized custom engagement rings to life. In addition, we will create detailed renderings of what the finished design will look like, providing you with a three-dimensional prototype and allowing you to accurately assess the design and provide feedback, including making alterations.
Casting and Stone Setting
Whether platinum or gold – the latter of which is available in various tones such as rose, yellow, white, or two-tone – this is the stage in which the custom engagement rings will be cast in the precious metal that you selected. Once the ring has been cast, it will be sent to a trusted, professional gemstone setter who will painstakingly set the center stone. Cornelis Hollander only uses diamonds that the Kimberly Process strictly governs. This international initiative promotes transparency in the industry to eliminate the destructive trade of conflict.
You’ll only receive the highest-quality stones when you work with Cornelis Hollander. After the jewelry has passed a thorough quality inspection, we will apply your desired finish. Finishing options include polishing, brushing, satin-finishing, sandblasting, and more. It will then receive a final review before moving on to the last phase in our design process, delivery.
The Final Product
The last step brings us immense satisfaction. It is when we get to present custom engagement rings that consistently exceed expectations. The beauty, craftsmanship, quality, and weight are genuinely indescribable until you’ve asked your significant other those four magical words and placed their personalized diamond engagement ring design on their ring finger. Our client’s joy and satisfaction are as rewarding as knowing that they’ll have a stunning masterpiece that reflects their love, style, and personality.
