I engaged Cornelis Hollander, and specifically Tina and Walter, to help me create a custom engagement ring for my fiancé. Both were incredibly patient as we worked through a number of iterations of the ring design to land upon a piece that is truly beautiful, artistic and structurally sound. It was an ambitious undertaking, but Walter really went all out to create an amazing ring! It is just stunning and artistically unique. I have been a customer of Cornelius Hollander Design for at least 20 years. They are ethical and have nothing but the highest integrity. I have many beautiful pieces designed and made personally by Cornelius. Unfortunately, he passed away due to illness several years ago. His son Walter has taken over the business and he has inherited his fathers creativity and artistry, but adds a twist of his own. He shares the same integrity that they have always had. I love using Cornelis Hollander for all my jewelry needs. Everything I’ve had done is custom, but their catalogue is so unique. Walter asked great questions to draw up mock-ups of what I was looking for. Then, he adjusted the models with my feedback and crafted some beautiful pieces. This is a diligent family owned business that matches larger companies in their quality materials and prices, but they have such a unique style. I love telling my friends about this place - I get so many compliments on my jewelry I have to tell them where it is from. Favorite piece is a ring that Walter drew up a model of from a family heirloom. I had lost one of the two pearl earrings, and Walter made the one I had left into a beautiful ring. Love that it is repurposed and keeps meaning but is now a unique style that gets tons of compliments.

For my 20th anniversary my husband surprised me with a new diamond & researched who he thought would be the best jeweler to trust with the designing process from start to finish. Although the drive from Gilbert to Scottsdale was not ideal, Walter made sure it was worth it! He was very communicative & offered invaluable expertise & advice on the perfect design to complement my new diamond & celebrate our milestone anniversary. It turned out stunning & we couldn’t be more pleased with the end result. We also had him re make an anniversary band of mine that I just didn’t wear often enough because of the design. Walter is a true artist and genius designer. We came to him with a very special family heirloom engagement ring we wanted to design to not only protect the 3ct marquise, but utilize the original baguettes into a “starship alien engagement ring”. Highly Recommend! I purchased my husbands ring after searching for months. I wanted to find something unique but nothing stood out enough until I found Cornelis Hollander in Old Town Scottsdale. We looked at all of the rings in his showroom and asked him to modify/customize one his own designs for us. On one occasion my husband had accidentally banged his ring on a door handle so hard that a few stones were knocked out and when we took it in for repair, they were replaced and the ring made to look new again at no cost to us. Flash forward a few more years when my husband's ring was lost. He loved the design so much that we had it replaced with exactly the same design, only changing the metal from 18k gold to Cobalt. We have been very pleased with their level of customer service and would highly recommend Cornelis Hollander if you want something unique, substantial and modern. It has been almost 14 years since our original purchase and probably about 10 since we replaced. Though we haven't taken it in for polishing in years, it still looks great!

Walter and the staff at Cornelis Hollander Designs are awesome! Had zero experience with shopping for jewelry, let alone designing a custom piece. They took the time to show me multiple rings and point out the features that accentuated each one, respectively. We compiled the elements I liked from several of them. Within 48hrs I had a rendering of what the ring would look like (didn’t even realize I was designing it with them). They took my feedback, we went back and forth several times (staff is amazingly patient) until it was perfect, and then delivered perfection! The biggest part of this was using stones from an existing ring with heavy sentimental value. I never once felt that I had to worry about the quality of the work, the preservation of the stones or the beauty of the finished ring. The only hard part was hiding it while traveling with my then girlfriend, and now fiancée. Thanks for perfect ring for a perfect person!

My husband went to Cornelius Hollander for a brand new wedding ring after our 12 yr wedding anniversary. Tina was his salesperson , even though the ring wasn't ready by the first date we were given , because Tina said the designer was a perfectionist. My wife and I chose Cornelis Hollander after interviewing a couple of top custom jewelers. Walter was perfect for us. They have a portfolio of fabulous designs to start with. My wife Esther and I are both designers and wanted to create something unique to replace her current wedding ring. Walter worked together with Esther capturing her design ideas perfectly. He did 3D imaging first, then when details were worked out, he did a 3D printing of the ring to ensure everything is perfect before manufacturing it. We couldn’t be happier with the results! We wouldn’t go to anyone else and give them our highest recommendation!

First, I am truly sad that Cornelis is no longer with us; a true artist. He designed my ring as I requested, taking inspiration from 3 of his designs combined; came out exactly as imagined. Beautiful elegant and very different from all the every day wedding rings out there! This was my 3rd wedding ring I was changing because I just did’t quite like what was out there! 10 years later and I’m still in love with my ring! I have my eyes set on another beautiful ring...I’ll be visiting the shop soon! I hope his children will be able to carry on his legacy! Have purchased 2 different Rings designed by Cornells Hollander. These pieces are absolutely the most beautiful and extremely unique designs that I've ever seen. Just had to buy them for my wife. Met Cornelis and He was absolutely one of the most wonderful gentlemen you would ever want to meet. He added some special touches to our orders and we were astounded with him. I recently found myself reading that Cornelis has recently passed away and my wife and I are deeply saddened. Excellent customer service! I had a pair of gold/ diamond earrings that my husband had given me 25 years ago. The clasp had broken And I brought it to Cornelis Hollander for repair. They did such a beautiful job restoring them to the original luster! The repair cost was so reasonable as well I was surprised! I wish I could give them more stars. I have been a customer for almost 20 years now. I traveled from Denver to Scottsadle to get an engagement ring created...for round 2 ; ) Cornelis designed my first tension set engagement ring that had my grandmother's diamond in it. So when it was time to re-design, knowing I wanted to use the same stone, there was no place else I was going to go. It was a pleasure to meet and work with Walter, and I was sorry to hear about the passing of his father. I brought my first ring that his dad designed with me, and I saw his eyes light up upon holding it. Once we knew I was going with another Hollander design, he asked to purchase it from me. That meant so much...as it was from another time in my life, but it held many great memories and I hope someone else enjoys wearing it as much as I did. And as for my NEW ring, it's AMAZING and I get so many compliments on it. I very much feel like part of the family at Hollander and would not go anywhere else for my jewelry needs. What an Incredible Experience. Cornelis Hollander deserve 10 Stars! To start, Walter is an incredible jewelry designer. I worked with Tina, Katie and Walter. I wanted a new design for a bracelet that was made in Greece. The piece is called "Evil Eye" or Mati" in Greek. The original design was made with paracord. I took the bracelet to Cornelis Hollander. My initial meeting was with Tina. We discussed options and Walter came up with some great redesign ideas. During to design process, I met with Tina, Katie and Walter. We put our heads together decided on a redesign of the bracelet. Since the main piece of the bracelet is 925 Sterling Silver, and Murano glass, we made the bracelet part in 925 Sterling Silver. The entire staff at Cornelis Hollander are such warm-hearted and very friendly people. They make you feel like they knew you for years. Our next project will be designing a new Sapphire/Diamond ring.
