Our first experience with Cornelis was in 2002 when my husband Peter surprised me with a beautiful ring. It was the classic white gold ring where the diamond sets on top of a heart shaped trio of diamonds, the most unique ring I had ever seen. I still love it today! That was the start of our experience with Cornelis and his outstanding designs. Over the next several years, we made it a point to drop in and see the new designs and Peter thoroughly enjoyed talking with Cornelis about anything and everything. And I had the opportunity to buy more jewelry! Peter came home from a fishing trip in Tahiti with a very large black pearl and he just knew that Cornelis was the person to design the perfect ring to best display this magnificent large pearl. I even had Cornelis design a pair of very unique drop earrings made from both yellow and white gold that I had designed in my head and he created them for me exactly as I had pictured. I continue to get so many compliments on them. I never shopped for jewelry anywhere else. Of course it was the beautiful and contemporary designs but Cornelis added that extra special touch with his casual, easy going personality that we liked so much. We have been retired for the last few years so unfortunately not able to buy more jewelry. We do think of Cornelis and of course reminded of him every time I wear one of his designs. I researched several jewelers in town before choosing CH to design my 20th anniversary diamond ring. I had been saving ideas for over 2 years. I knew I liked specific design elements from several different rings, but I didn't know how they could all possibly come together. CH had tons of designs that were along the same idea that I was looking for- modern but still looks like an actual engagement ring, and of course unique! We sat down with Walter and went over all of my ideas and pictures I had saved over 2 years. He is a true artist! He took his time and came up with several different designs incorporating all of the details I was looking for. I kept changing little things during the design process, but he remained totally calm and understanding- and kept his sense of humor during the entire process! It took a couple month to complete because I kept changing things, but the final ring is exactly everything that I wanted!!! We were so happy with the process and the end result that I had him make my mother's engagement ring into a pendant a couple weeks later! We will definitely be using him for all of our jewelry needs going forward. We just can't recommend him enough!!

Walter, Tina and Charlene treated me like family and made me the most beautiful wedding ring. Very professional and good communication. The design is everything I was looking for: strong but feminine, heavy duty but delicate. Truly a work of art, which as an artist I appreciate more than they could know! I have a Cornelis Hollander wedding ring that I purchased elsewhere many years ago. I LOVE my ring. It is stunning and unique as are all of the Cornelis Hollander designs. Unfortunately, I developed a gold contact allergy and went into Cornelis Hollander Jewelry Designs to have it reset in platinum. I happened to run into Tina who helped me when I originally bought the ring. It was a wonderful gift to see her again and she was very understanding about my allergy and very helpful. ( I have gone to other jewelers who were not as understanding about my allergy regarding other pieces.) I haven't gotten the ring back yet but I can't wait! If you want a beautiful piece of jewelry from a great, helpful crew, look no further!

My experiences at Cornelis Hollander Jewelry Designs have been very positive. I have not been able to wear my wedding ring or engagement ring for many years. Both were too big. I had gone to another jeweler first for my wedding ring and they said they could not fix it. After Hollander's did a great job fixing my wedding ring, I decided to get another setting for my engagement ring. Even my husband commented on how nice it looks. So much nicer than the original setting. Since I have not compared prices, I cannot comment on cost. However, I definitely would recommend the quality of their work.

My husband and I have had nothing short of a positive experience with Cornelis. Both our wedding rings were custom made by Cornelis - and we LOVE them. I also had my pearls restrung and some earrings made - all of which came out perfect! I first met Cornelis back in 2006 when I purchased a car from him. He was an absolute lunatic in all the best ways, and it showed in both his taste in cars and his stunningly unique jewelry designs. I loved that he stayed in touch with not only creating ultra high end custom pieces but also offering lines of unique, stunning, very affordable things as well.Since he passed away, his wife and son have been keeping things going, and Walter has done a great job filling in his father's shoes, keeping with the same principles of exceptional service that makes their business a no-brainer.I needed to buy an engagement ring about 6 years ago, when Cornelis was still with us, and he took my grandmother's old diamond and designed an absolutely stunning piece around it (pictured below). When it was unfortunately stolen, Jeweler's Mutual insurance paid completely for its replacement, and Walter's recreation of it was so perfect, down to his selection of the diamond, that I literally couldn't tell the difference if you put a gun to my head and a loupe in my hand, and the whole process couldn't have possibly been more hassle free (I don't even live in the state anymore, so everything done with the ring, from first purchase to replacement - was all done over the phone and email) I can't say what I paid, but let me just say that it was un-freaking-believably reasonable.Cornelis also took care of my family's request to have some custom pieces made in memorial of my grandparents. Both Cornelis and Walter have been so good to my family that as long as Walter keeps the business going, he will be getting every single jewelry job that I ever need. It was very sad when Cornelis passed - everyone wore orange on the day of his funeral - even me, who couldn't make it there - but Walter has truly filled his eccentric father's shoes and the business is as spectacular as it ever was.

Walter is a true artist and genius designer. We came to him with a very special family heirloom engagement ring we wanted to design to not only protect the 3ct marquise, but utilize the original baguettes into a “starship alien engagement ring”. Dec 2020With my upcoming wedding anniversary coming up, I went and met with Walter to look at the various ring designs in person for a custom piece my husband was getting me. Mind you, I already knew that my new ring would be a Cornelis Hollander band- I fell in love with his designs the first time I saw them at least 10yrs ago and I finally was ready to get what I really wanted...And I wanted a Green Tourmaline ring like the one Cornelis Hollander designed!He was very helpful even at our first in person consultation and then we kept in contact over email within the next weeks with the various details of the ring design and cost estimates. At no point did I feel pressured or like Walter was being a "sales person", the whole process really felt casual, flexible... and I felt heard and understood and never rushed or pushed. When I got the visual of the approximate ring, I was so excited and then when I went in to try the wax sample, I was elated- their rings have a heft and a bold look to them that I just love and I didn't have a doubt it would be gorgeous once cast. I have been a customer for almost 20 years now. I traveled from Denver to Scottsadle to get an engagement ring created...for round 2 ; ) Cornelis designed my first tension set engagement ring that had my grandmother's diamond in it. So when it was time to re-design, knowing I wanted to use the same stone, there was no place else I was going to go. It was a pleasure to meet and work with Walter, and I was sorry to hear about the passing of his father. I brought my first ring that his dad designed with me, and I saw his eyes light up upon holding it. Once we knew I was going with another Hollander design, he asked to purchase it from me. That meant so much...as it was from another time in my life, but it held many great memories and I hope someone else enjoys wearing it as much as I did.
